In this week’s show we travel to Croatia, at the heart of one of the EU’s macro regions, to see how a shared economic policy could boost prosperity.
Our assessment showed that there is a need for more cooperation and exchange of information. The Commission is now advising all member states involved in macro regional strategies to focus on fewer priorities.
But can the Adriatic-Ionian region really create new jobs without an additional financial commitment nationally and from the EU?
Corina Creţu, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy tells us how sharing experiences is just as important as funding.
We also visit the macro region of the Danube that brings together nine EU and five Non–EU countries.
