PLDT unit ePLDT has partnered with Singapore-based WIZ.AI to help companies in the Philippines use cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to improve their customer service capabilities.

The planned development of multi-cloud offerings will include Talkbot, a conversational AI-powered customer engagement solution.

To ensure service uptime in the Philippines, WIZ.AI will also be hosting its AI solutions in ePLDT’s VITRO Data Center.

“Our partnership with WIZ.AI will help make conversational AI accessible to enterprises in the Philippines, essentially enhancing operational efficiency and improving customer experience for their end users,” ePLDT President and CEO Victor Genuino said in a statement.

Wiz.AI Chairman Jianfeng Lu said the partnership would help “change the way companies engage with customers, gather data, streamline workflow, and improve efficiency.

The PLDT Group and WIZ.AI held a contract signing on August 30 at the PLDT Global office in Singapore.

The WIZ.AI Talkbot was said to provide humanized and hyper-localized conversational AI solutions, understanding and intelligently responding to 11 languages and accents, including Tagalog, Taglish and English.

Genuino said that he was looking forward to AI technology being able to learn extensive language models, including Cebuano, Ilocano and other Philippine dialects, to better cater to a broader customer base in the Philippines.
