The support aims to support over 800 SMEs for the next two years.

Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) has collaborated with local polytechnics through the Centres of Innovation (COIs) for the support and transformation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

It brings the network of COIs to 12, servicing SMEs with specialised resources for training, advisory and laboratory facilities. Both centres aim to partner with over 800 Singapore SMEs in the next two years and organise over 100 innovation projects with local SMEs.

Notable COIs include Centre of Innovation for Built Environment – Robotics & Automation (COI BERA), Centre of Innovation for Built Environment – Advanced Materials (COI BE-AM) and Food Manufacturing Centre of Innovation (FMCOI).

Through the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2025, SMEs have employed technical expertise and infrastructure at the COIs towards 200 innovative projects in fields, like aquaculture, health products and precision engineering.

Through the support of EnterpriseSG, businesses under these industries can utilise the new COI for the built environment and expanded centre for manufacturing, as well as their development, testing and commercialisation for business growth.

“Companies recognise the rewards of innovation but may find it challenging to commit significant time, effort and expertise in the long run. Our COIs bridge this gap and enhance efficiency by serving as a one-stop hub for pooled resources and knowledge sharing,” Tan Boon Kim, Executive Director for Innovation Ecosystem Development of EnterpriseSG, said.
