The ‘Maximize your Asset’s Performance with HxGN EAM’ conference recently concluded, leaving a trail of invaluable insights and strategic methodologies for businesses seeking to optimize their asset management practices. Hosted in JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai on November 23rd, this event served as a pivotal gathering point for industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts eager to explore the transformative capabilities of Hexagon’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions.
Throughout the conference, attendees were immersed in a realm of innovative strategies, real-world case studies, and forward-thinking discussions, all centered around the pivotal role of EAM in driving operational efficiency and maximizing asset performance. The event witnessed thought-provoking presentations, engaging panel discussion, and interactive fireside chat, providing a comprehensive understanding of how HxGN EAM serves as a catalyst for elevating businesses to new heights of operational and maintenance excellence.
The event commenced as Muqbil Ahmar, Executive Editor at ETB2B, The Economic Times, welcomed the audience and provided the context as he proceeded to cite essential facts underscoring the significance of EAM, “EAM market is expected to hit US $ 8.14 billion by the year 2030 due to demand for a comprehensive view of assets and integration of advanced technologies.” He continued “One industry that comes to my mind is Healthcare & pharmaceuticals where they have a diverse & complicated regulatory framework which is difficult to navigate unless you have digital tools like EAM at your disposal.”Following this, a Joint Keynote address was delivered by Chanpreet Sahni, Vice President – India, Asset Lifecycle Intelligence, Hexagon, and Praveen Kumar Nakkella, Head of Pre-Sales, India, Asset Lifecycle Intelligence, Hexagon. Together, they provided valuable insights on Empowering Organizations through APM (Asset Performance Management). Chanpreet commenced his address by emphasizing, “Assets are Everywhere,” underscoring “If you look at the assets, it’s not only about the capital assets, even human capital is very important and that’s what makes HxGN EAM so much different; that we are not just looking at infrastructure, we are looking at everything as an asset where we can provide value.”He further highlighted one of the most distinctive projects they are presently overseeing, “CERN is the largest research of particle physics and a key account for Hexagon where our mission is to provide scientists the tools to study building blocks of matter and origin of the universe. We have been managing the operations for more than 30 years now. CERN is using EAM for all the services within the campus, including electricity, water cooling and so on”.
To this address, Praveen Nakkella added, “Most of the commonly available asset management solutions, manage your asset, business processes, maintenance, etc but the key differentiator here is safety and regulatory feature; not all EAM solutions offers this”
Following that, a subsequent Keynote Address was delivered by Taranjit Singh Matta, Partner at Deloitte, focusing on the Deloitte Insights of EAM in India. During his address, he articulated, “Data tells you how much you are supposed to use an asset and if you take the timely decision, your ROI of why you have bought an asset is done.” He further added “When we talk about EAM, it is not only the data, it also helps you with the process of how an asset needs to be operated.”
Later in the conference program, we had a customer success story presentation delivered by Sriman Narayana Turlapati, Head of Department – Digital Solutions, Suez India. He elucidated real-case scenarios illustrating the practical application of HxGN EAM to the audience. He shared insightful narratives highlighting, “ In our situation, we were working fine in Project management and financials side, but when it comes to the asset performance we needed a platform or a digital tool to improve the efficiency of operations & maintenance, and also the workforce management. Hexagon EAM also assisted us in effectively managing assets on the move.
Following a brief networking break where attendees explored HxGN EAM solution in action, the session recommenced with a presentation by Paolo Amodeo, Pre-Sales Manager at EAM Asset Lifecycle Intelligence, Hexagon. During his presentation, he expressed, “With Hexagon, it is possible to define different capital planning scenarios in order to compare them and approve the most valuable for your business and then it starts the project of creating this new investment inside the EAM”
Following that, an exclusive panel discussion titled “EAM in the Digital Era: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities” showcased a panel featuring esteemed professionals: Sanjay Pawar, Senior General Manager (Engineering) at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd; Manoj Naik, Principal Director at Godrej Infotech; Sameer Makhija, Account Director at Hexagon. This panel was expertly moderated by Sekhar Konidena, Executive Director Strategy & Services, India, Hexagon. When setting the context, Sekhar initiated the discussion by stating, “ We have assets everywhere and it is important to focus on each assets, as different assets needs different methods to resolve”
From exploring cutting-edge technologies to navigating the complexities of asset management in an evolving digital landscape, this discussion offered a diverse range of insights.
In this discussion, Sanjay Pawar said, “There are a lot of challenges about these FDA as we see in the newspapers few of the key notes has been given about the pharmaceutical industry and India being a major Hub of the Pharma products, so for Asset Management to have the uniformity Quality Maintenance across the globe without changing the parameters is to be very crucial and for me the harmonization across the globe is required and which is Possible only with the asset management system.”
Further views shared by Manoj Naik, “So nowadays we have various techniques like we have IoT we have machine interface, whereby we can capture the key parameters and keep a tab on when the machine is going to fail, so you can continuously keep on monitoring. It is a very important indicator and parameter”.
Sameer Mahikja provided his point of view focussing on a user friendly platform, emphasizing, “AI is an important buzzword and we are using AI in our software. Hexagon EAM has a complex technology but when it is presented to a user they feel, they adapt it very easily. It is important to scale the platform but with the easement of the usage.”
Following the networking lunch, the conference resumed with a presentation titled “EAM in the Era of Industry 4.0” delivered by Sameer Patkar, Practice Leader – HxGN EAM at Wipro Limited. During his presentation, he remarked, “Asset related challenges are different in pre & post pandemic. After the pandemic the biggest challenge is to bring back the people back to the sites, how to bring the scenario back to normalcy, automation advances and improving the environment and Hexagon EAM is taking care of that.”
