Emirates will commence daily flights to Toronto from 20 April due to ‘huge demand’, the carrier announced on Friday (6 April).
The move follows a strategic partnership agreed between the two carriers last June, which includes a codeshare arrangement.
The Dubai-Toronto route is operated by the carrier’s flagship A380 aircraft, with 491 seats across three cabins: first, business and economy. According to the carrier, increasing the five-times weekly service to daily will increase capacity on the route by 40 per cent.
Emirates chief commercial officer, Adnan Kazim, described the development as “crucial” for the airline as demand from leisure and corporate travellers has “consistently outstripped the allocated capacity”.
“Business ties between Canada and the UAE have grown significantly over the years and the expanded air services will help to further nurture business and trade,” Kazim added.
