Genesis’ Electrified GV70 sport utility vehicle (SUV) took the top spot in Germany, beating out even German-made electric vehicles (EVs).
German automotive magazine Autobild recently conducted a comparative evaluation of three vehicles – the Electrified GV70, the Audi Q8 e-tron, and the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV – and the Electrified GV70 came in first for its superior electrical system and superior quality according to industry sources on June 26. The comparison was conducted in seven categories – body, comfort, powertrain, driving performance, connectivity, eco-friendliness, and economic value.
The Electrified GV70 took first place in three categories: powertrain, eco-friendliness, and affordability. Its overall score was 603 points, outscoring both the Audi Q8 e-tron with 574 points and the Benz EQE SUV with 570 points. In the powertrain category, which is a key competitive advantage for EVs, the Genesis EV earned the highest score of 103, recognizing its power electric (PE) system for superior driving performance and fast charging speed. It also received the highest score (80) in the eco-friendliness category and exterior noise, and the highest score (79) in the affordability category, which includes maintenance and warranty.
The Electrified GV70 has a maximum power output of 320 kilowatts (360 kilowatts in boost mode) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. With a 77.4-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, it can run up to 400 kilometers on a single charge. In January, it was named the 2022 Best Import Crossover SUV by Autobild. In 2022, Autobild put the Electrified GV70 in the top spot, even above the Tesla Model Y.
