Tom and Toto was established in 2013 by Sarah Wright as a one-woman dog walking business and has since grown into an award-winning pet care company based in Norwich, which offers a host of services and products to support dog owners and their pets.
As well as running a luxury doggy day care centre in Sprowston catering for around 30 dogs per day in its farmhouse, log cabin and extensive secure gardens, the business also holds group dog walks for over 200 dogs per week in Norwich’s finest green spaces.
It also runs a Tom and Toto social club and, since 2019, it has supported students at the University of East Anglia by holding walks with eight ‘wellbeing’ dogs and staff.
The judges called Tom and Toto a “very impressive company” with “quality of service and trust” at its core. They said that Sarah “has built a fantastic business borne out of her passion for working with animals” and “has clearly demonstrated her ability to nurture and inspire her team to provide an exceptional service to their clients”.
On being named Small Business of the Year, Tom and Toto director Sarah Wright said: “Winning Small Business of the Year has given us a tremendous feeling of pride, validation, and sense of achievement. The award acknowledges the hard work, dedication, and innovation that goes into building and running Tom and Toto. The recognition from peers and the business community is also incredibly motivating for our future growth plans.
“We are embarking on an exciting chapter of growth and plan to expand our centres to 10 across East Anglia over the next five years,” she added. “Our services will continue to improve standards of dog care, serve more dog owners and provide the support necessary to local businesses to promote growth and success across the region.”
The other finalists for the Small Business of the Year award were Azure Outdoor Living, Chadwicks and LY Copywriting.
