STATE COLLEGE — The Downtown State College Improvement District recently announced the launch of a new grant program aimed at supporting small businesses and property owners in executing vital capital improvement projects.

Scheduled to commence in early 2024, the program will specifically target facade and interior renovations, contributing to the overall revitalization of the downtown district.

The Small Business Grant Program will provide funding ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to downtown constituents who are committed to enhancing the aesthetic appeal and functionality of their establishments. Successful applicants will be required to match the grant amount, ensuring a collaborative effort in pursuit of transformative improvements.

DSCID Executive Director Lee Anne Jeffries emphasized the significance of this financial support.

“This funding will make a lasting impact on the community, fostering economic development, community engagement and a sense of pride. We believe that investing in the visual and functional aspects of our downtown businesses will not only attract more visitors but also stimulate economic growth for the long term,” Jeffries said.
