KATHMANDU, Nepal – Agitated taxi drivers, deeply perturbed by the encroachment on their livelihood, have vehemently called upon the relevant authorities to take decisive action against private vehicles engaging in passenger transport for monetary gain.

In a display of dissatisfaction, the demonstrating taxi drivers gathered right outside the precincts of the Transport Management Office, strategically situated in the heart of Minbhawan, the Capital’s bustling core.

The struggle committee of taxi drivers arranged it.

The central rallying cry of this protest echoed the demand that the authorities halt the practice of private vehicles offering transportation services to paying passengers.

The committee, the driving force behind this vocal demonstration, has formulated a nine-point memorandum of demands, seeking the government’s immediate attention.

Amid their emotional appeals, they aim to address the economic impact on the traditional taxi business and the broader issues of fair competition, regulation, and public safety.
