Our marketing talent workforce is every evolving, markets are more complex: increased competition, regulatory requirements, access challenges and a stronger need to engage customers with advances in technology and data require critical shifts to the traditional marketing talent expectations.The Director of Marketing Excellence – Talent Strategy & Development will play a strategic role in identifying and defining the talent marketing functional skills necessary to shift the organization for the future to develop an approach to focus on shaping talent that is evolving with the changing market S/He will need to be able influence and lead the marketing community and drive the change necessary to ensure BMS marketers become the best in the industry. The Director will develop the Marketing Excellence Talent skills framework that reflects the new and changing environment and emerging skills to ensure a companywide consistent approach to ensuring our marketing talent can gain further expertise and rewarding experiences that leads to strong career growth within Bristol Myers Squibb.**Responsibilities** **:**+ Develop clear marketing functional skills set expectations of marketing talent across markets based upon the development and vision of a new customer model capabilities.+ Define marketing knowledge and skills by proficiency levels mapped by organization role levels (ie Foundational, Proficient, Expert) to be included in role descriptions across the organization (by role and alignment to organizational grade levels) to help identify opportunities for future growth within the organization.+ Lead the evolution of embedding the newly identified marketing skills to embed within BMS marketing career development and growth and opportunities.+ Lead the identification of the skills necessary for emerging new marketing roles within the organization such as those that focus on customer engagement and technological expertise along with data and insights.+ Develop and lead the governance model that helps to embed consistency within the roles and responsibilities necessary/appropriate for the business.+ Utilizing real world and external benchmarks to build detailed marketer experiential growth plans that develop identify career mapping for world class marketers. Create a marketing career growth continuum model and showcase actual examples throughout the organization specifically to represent the new customer model.+ Lead the creation of a worldwide marketing skills sustainable learning curriculum inclusive of multi-modality resources (ie podcasts, live forums, case studies, on demand etc)+ Partner extensively with Learning & Development to identify/create sustainable, customizable, and scalable learning delivery platform.+ Develop a sustainable onboarding program to assist those new to the company or new to marketing to acclimate and understand skills expectations and career growth within the organization and ensure a successful experience.+ Lead and build relationships with leading external marketing experts and university institutions such as Tuck School of Business, Wharton, Columbia/leading international schools etc to create opportunities for marketers to participate in marketing skill development programs.+ Partner in working to create meaningful opportunities for marketing interns and rotational programs to ensure appropriate skills are identified and are being developed to ensure success.+ Work with talent acquisition to help identify the evolution of marketing skills needed to drive the business. Work to help create interview guides are updated with unique questions to identify the marketing standards and functional skill sets, identified by the organization to help identify level ready candidates.+ Shape the content and lead Marketing community forums, sponsored by BU/Commercial leads, to create opportunities for marketers to expand their network internally and externally.+ Working across the organization, identify and help shape Tour of Duties, mentorship opportunities for marketers looking to gain skills outside of their current roles.+ Participate and represent Marketing Excellence on the bi-monthly talent calls with marketer lead managers to identify ready moves and those needing Tour of Duty.+ Develop tools for managers to have productive/actional conversations to help marketers identify opportunities for further development**Qualifications:**+ Minimum 10 years of healthcare/pharmaceutical/biotech commercial marketing experience with a minimum of 8 years of marketing experience or HR commercial support experience preferably across a various of therapeutic areas within a large market and worldwide+ Experience in change management is preferred+ Ability to work cross the matrix/function inclusive of HR, Training and interface with senior leadership.+ Demonstrated willingness to push and evolve and organization with creative thinking, capability building.+ Strong grasp of business, competitive and market fundamentals along with a natural curiosity and willingness to take risks to create value for an organization.+ Prior experience leading & developing high performing teams.+ Demonstrated expertise in building, teaching marketing fundamentals.+ Proven track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance across a diverse group of individuals and functions with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and executive collaboration required.+ Ability to manage and lead multiple agencies._If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
