Denmark will spend an additional 32 billion kroner ($4.6 billion) on welfare until 2030 under the government’s new fiscal plan that seeks to strike a balance in using higher-than-expected revenues, also giving tax breaks for workers.
The grand coalition government — with the most conservative public finances in the European Union — has estimated it will have 68 billion kroner available to spend on new political initiatives by the end of the decade, having raised the forecast twice this year as the economy performed better than anticipated.
