The Danish government has published the list of professions for which it is looking for foreign workers to come to live in Denmark in fill in those jobs, in order to tackle the job shortage issue which has hit this country in specific sectors.

As of January 1, 2023, two new lists of workers have come into effect, that for people with higher education, and the other one for people who work in fields for which skilled workers are needed, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) has, on the basis of a list based on the Labour Market Balance received from The Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment (STAR), developed new guiding positive lists for people with a higher education and for skilled work that will take effect on January 1, 2023,” the Agency notes in a statement revealing the lists.

It also points out that the Positive List for People with a Higher Education consists of 40 job titles, while the Positive List for Skilled Work has 36 job titles. Both of them will be in effect until June 30, this year.

40 Job Titles for Position Open For Foreigners With Higher Education

The Positive List for People with a Higher Education consists of 40 job titles for professions which are experiencing a shortage of qualified workers in Denmark.

In order to qualify to move to Denmark under this list, the person must have educational background that qualifies him/her. The same also must have a job offer in that profession, before applying for a Danish work visa.

The open positions under this list are as follows:

Managers in the field of production and service

  • Head of Product with at least three years education at bachelor level
  • Natural Science and engineering
  • Chemist with a Master’s degree
  • Biologist with a Master’s degree
  • Mechanical Engineer with a professional Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
  • Civil Engineer with a professional Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
  • Environmental Engineer with a professional Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
  • Electronics Engineer with a professional Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
  • Town Planner with a Master’s degree

Healthcare

  • Medical Doctor with a Master’s degree + Danish authorization
  • Hospital Doctor with a Master’s degree + Danish authorization
  • Nurse with a professional Bachelor’s degree + Danish authorization
  • Veterinarian with a Master’s degree + Danish authorization
  • Dentist with a Master’s degree + Danish authorization

Denmark is also looking for foreigners who are experienced in highly skilled fields. The Positive List for Skilled Work consists of 36 professions, and it is open to those who have been offered a job included in this list that have the required expertise for working in that profession.
