A month after announcing it would revamp its Delta SkyBonus small and midsize-based product into a new product called SkyMiles for Business this fall, Delta Air Lines said it also will update its Delta Professional agency product.
“The same website that travel agencies use today to manage their bigger corporate accounts, they [will be able] to see that with their small business customers,” Delta managing director of sales development Shane Spyak said this week during the Global Business Travel Association convention in Dallas.
Through the application, agencies will be able to view and service their SkyMiles for Business accounts as well as check mile balances, tier status and performance with an “easy-to-use” dashboard, Spyak said. The new agency platform also will allow for adding tickets for retroactive credits, signing up new customers and enrolling customers in promotions.
SkyMiles for Business customers also will be able to authorize agencies to redeem miles on their behalf, allowing for agencies to assign SkyMiles to an individual traveler in a company or to choose from any of the other redemption options.
In addition, customers will be able to accrue miles on tickets issued with agency commission programs and agency SME discount programs. “Agency customers will no longer have to choose between receiving a SME discount or accruing miles,” Spyak said.
