Spur of the moment
It’s a busy day of ins and outs at Tottenham.
The club are supposedly in talks with Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson with a deal getting closer to an agreement.
Spurs have also just seen a reported £20m offer for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly rejected due to a lack of time for them to find a replacement.
Meanwhile, Sergio Reguilon is set to join Man Utd on loan and Japhet Tanganga could be sent to German side Augsburg for the year.
OFFICIAL: Nunes is a Man City player
Man City have confirmed the signing of Wolves’ Matheus Nunes.
The 25-year-old has signed a five-year deal at the Etihad after pushing for an exit and reportedly going on strike to force the transfer.
Nunes said: ” I’m so happy to be joining Manchester City, the champions of Europe and a club I’ve admired for a long time.
“The opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest managers ever, and alongside some of the best players in the world was something I simply couldn’t turn down.
“I learned so much during my season at Wolves and I’m excited to continue improving in the Premier League, a division which brings the best out of me.
“I’m really excited to get going, meet the fans and hopefully be a part of plenty more success at City.”
OFFICIAL: City loan out Doyle
Tommy Doyle has signed for Wolves on a season-long loan.
Wolves have £5m option to buy him next summer but City insisted on a large 50 per cent sell on clause so they’d get a share of any future profit.
Doyle spent last season on loan at Sheffield United.

OFFICIAL: Tavares signs for Forest
Nuno Tavares has gone to Nottingham Forest on loan but other than that it’s likely to be a quiet deadline day for Arsenal.
The 23-year-old left-back spent last season on loan at Marseille and has only managed 13 Premier League starts since a £7million move from Benfica in 2021.
Forest are paying a £1million loan fee for the Portuguese Under-21 international and have an option to sign him on a permanent basis next summer for £12million.
The Gunners have already spent £205million this summer on Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber and a further £3million to sign David Raya on loan.
They are still trying to offload Rob Holding, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nicolas Pepe and Cedric Soares before tonight’s deadline but are not looking to make any more signings.

Hammer time
West Ham may be playing on Deadline Day, but David Moyes has not ruled out any last-minute activity while he stands on the touchline at Luton tonight.
The Hammers have splashed out around £110m on midfielders James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus and defender Konstantinos Mavropanos this summer, following Declan Rice’s £105m Arsenal exit.
Yet Moyes has always been desperate for more firepower up top, and if they do any business in these final few hours, it will be to bring in a forward – but nothing is advanced as is stands.
In his press conference yesterday, Moyes refused to comment on links with Juventus winger Filip Kostic and PSG striker Hugo Ekitike.
Technical director Tim Steidten was in Brazil earlier this week to try and tie up a deal for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto. However, Steidten has since flown back empty handed.
So, any incomings are unlikely, but not impossible. Moyes said yesterday: “We are still in the market, not heavily, but we will be right up until the last minute, no doubt.”
Also, watch out for a few outgoings. Danny Ings, Maxwel Cornet, Pablo Fornals and Ben Johnson have all been linked with moves away.
Moyes insists he would preferably like to keep that quartet at the club, unless something pops up in the shape of a permanent offer they cannot turn down.

Quiet day for Toon
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has ruled out making any new signings today.
Toon have spent £153million this summer on Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall.
Centre-back Sven Botman picked up an ankle injury during last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, leading to talk that the Magpies would dip back into the market.
But Howe said: “We knew when we signed Lewis that we weren’t going to do any more business unless there was a crisis.
“We don’t think Sven’s injury is too bad, we hope to have him back quickly.
“Our squad depth is ok, we are better than last year in terms of numbers.”
