KUALA LUMPUR: Tech hub developer Cyberview Sdn Bhd has named Kamarul Ariffin Abdul Samad as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective August 14, 2023.
Prior to this appointment, he was Sime Darby Property Selatan Sdn Bhd’s general manager and was responsible for the Malaysia Vision Valley project in Negeri Sembilan.
“I am honoured by the opportunity to share my experience with the team as we work to vigorously operationalise the Cyberjaya masterplan, which was launched in 2019.
“While there has been progress, and we are seeing results from various efforts made to attract both technology foreign direct investments and domestic direct investments, there remains a huge potential to further the development of Cyberjaya,” Kamarul said in a statement today.
He had held several key positions in Sime Darby Property Bhd, spanning from business development, strategic planning and corporate investment to leading business units.
Kamarul had been the chief strategic relations officer in London for the Battersea Power Station Development Company Ltd, representing the Malaysian consortium comprising Sime Darby Property, SP Setia Bhd and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
He was also a director in more than 25 Sime Darby Property companies in various countries and jurisdictions, among which are Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Australia and Vietnam.
Cyberview said Kamarul’s over 30 years of experience in a variety of fields will strengthen Cyberview’s role in helping shape Malaysia’s innovative future, through Cyberjaya, which is the preferred tech investment location and a global technology hub. – Bernama
