(ANSA) – ROME, APR 10 – The post-Easter week is a crunch one for major public-sector appointments in the gift of the new centre-right government under Italy’s spoils system with the new top executives of the Big Five State-controlled groups, electricity giant Enel, oil and gas titan Eni, aerospace and defence group Leonardo, national post office Poste Italiane and power grid operator Terna all due to be pencilled in by Thursday April 13.
At the moment, no majority summits are planned, although contacts are not ruled out Tuesday ahead of a key cabinet meeting in view of the fact that Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti must leave Wednesday for Washington for the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund.
Once the dossier is closed, there will be the assemblies that will be called ratify the government’s decisions: 8 May for Poste Italiane, 9 for Terna and Leonardo, and 10 for Eni and Enel. (ANSA).
