Company news: Kimberly Boynton and Ethan Minkel join Byrne Dairy board of directors

Byrne Dairy Inc. and Sonbyrne Sales Inc. announced two new members of its board of directors.

Kimberly Boynton was chief executive officer of Crouse Health from 2014 until 2023. Prior to becoming CEO, Boynton served as the health organization’s chief financial officer.

A graduate of Niagara University with a degree in accounting and the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University with a master’s degree in business administration, Boynton has served on the boards of Seneca Financial Corp./Seneca Savings Bank, SRC Inc., and AAA of Western and Central New York. She also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Christian Brothers Academy.

Ethan Minkel has more than 27 years of experience in the fields of operational management, human resources, logistics, customer service, and process enhancement. He spent more than 24 years with Walmart Inc., in various roles such as store manager, regional human resources manager, district manager of the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier, regional training coordinator for New York and Pennsylvania, and market manager for Rochester and Buffalo. He then began consulting for Guidepoint Inc., three years ago and joined Robert Half International last year as an engagement consulting professional.

Since 1933, Byrne Dairy has been producing dairy products in Central New York. It works with local family farms and operates an extended shelf-life and aseptic plant in East Syracuse; an ice cream plant in Syracuse; and an extended shelf-life plant in Cortlandville. Established in 1956, Sonbyrne is the retail arm of Byrne. Beginning with a single store in Central Square, Sonbyrne has grown to more than 70 locations throughout Upstate New York.
