The Company Manager will be pivotal in delivering our vision and plans. Joining the company at an exciting time in its development, this new role will work to support our Executive Producer and Artistic Director in managing and delivering our national artistic development programmes and performances.

Just Us Dance Theatre is a Hip Hop dance theatre company founded and driven by Artistic Director Joseph Toonga and Executive Producer Emily Crouch. Established in 2007 the company recently became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) cementing our work in supporting and developing the UK Hip Hop dance theatre scene. Based at Redbridge Drama Centre, East London our work has a growing international profile as well as local and regional impact.

We run Hip Hop specific artist development programmes and established the UK’s first paid Hip Hop Apprenticeship company, Just Us Apprenticeship Co (JUAC) that provides young dancers with the opportunity to work with sector leading choreographers and tour the UK. Our development programme, New & Notable, runs in London and around the UK and Rio de Janeiro providing exchange opportunities for Hip Hop creatives and bi-annual festivals in Brazil and the UK, showing audiences the most exciting talent in Hip Hop, forming vital regional partnerships and bridging game changing cultural conversations.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role requires a flexible and solution-focused approach, with a desire to make continuous improvements for the Company. You will manage the day-to-day logistics of the Artists 4 Growth development programmes and touring for the Company and be the point of liaison between management/artists/staff and performance venues. The Company Manager must be confident managing confidential information and will be responsible for overseeing data collection for funders and evaluation. The role requires experience and understanding of working with freelance artists, as well as exceptional organisational skills.

Works closely with: Artistic Director

Period of contract: July 2023 – April 2026. We are looking for a Company Manager to join us as soon as possible.

Contract: £30k per year, £18k pro rata

Hours: 3 days per week, 7.5 hrs per day (Monday, Wednesday & Friday are preferable days)

Start date: Monday 3rd July 2023 (negotiable)
