The Els Club Dubai had one of its busiest years in 2022 thanks in part to the FIFA World Cup which took place in nearby Qatar in November and December.
The Troon Golf-managed venue coped with more than 50,000 rounds of golf helped by a new fleet of 80 Club Car vehicles which was delivered early in 2022.
Tom Rourke, General Manager of The Els Club Dubai, said: “It was one of the best ever years we’ve had at The Els Club. We had so many guests flying in to enjoy some golf and then go across to Qatar and watch the football. We also had a lot of people here to watch matches in the evenings, so it was very, very busy.
“The new golf cars and other improvements we’ve made to the facility have really helped us attract even more golfers and drive revenue and profitability.”
Commenting on the new Club Car fleet of Tempos, which were customised with premium sports seats and a distinctive blue metallic finish to meet growing customer demand for first-class experiences, Rourke said: “The new fleet with all the new additions, including the latest Visage GPS system, has made a massive difference to our operation. We can do more rounds of golf and have better efficiency in managing the fleet. Visage is a key addition and the interactive nature of the system has improved and become even more user friendly.”
He added: “The cars are able to do more rounds of golf with greater efficiency in managing the fleet. We can monitor battery condition, how many rounds that car has done and fleet rotation to then inform the team and even out wear. We also use Visage for live scoring when we have events, which our guests very much enjoy.”
Club Car supplies many of the world’s leading golf destinations with its wide range of vehicles, and is an official supplier to the DP World Tour, the 2023 Ryder Cup, the Professional Golfers’ Association and St Andrews Links Trust.
