A vintage clothing business is closing one of its stores.

Pocket Watch and Petticoats, in Thoroughfare in Ipswich town centre, has announced they will be closing with immediate effect.

The store was described as being the quietest of the three, but one of the joint-owners has also recently been diagnosed with cancer.

However, the shops in Bury St. Edmunds and Cambridge will remain open.

Adrian Taylor, joint owner of Pocket Watch and Petticoats, said: “The Ipswich store was our quietest shop, we’ve been there for eight years but that last year has not gone as well.

“It’s a financial decision but also my wife was diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year, she’s in remission now but it did make things a bit more difficult.”

The Ipswich store was their first outing, before expanding into Bury and Cambridge.
