A Warwickshire-headquartered cleantech company which supplies to elite sports clubs and associations has smashed its £400,000 crowdfunding target.

WET Global supplies sustainable and safe mineralised cleantech water systems, enabling the reduction of sugar in drinks, antibiotics in meat, and plastic waste.

US beverage manufacturers provide the company’s Pure Ionic Water to sports clubs including Chelsea FC and England RFU.

It has currently raised £497,522 from 154 investors on Crowdcube, beating its £400,000 target.

A statement on the crowdfunding page said: “Our Natralysis process is a natural ionisation producing a stable alkaline water product. It can be used as an alkaline water drink or a base for flavoured beverages, reducing the need for sugar or chemical sweeteners.

“We’ve received government Innovate UK grants of more than £480,000 and secured multiple contracts. We’re raising to complete the setup of our new Natraylsis process US facility and to meet growing demand.

“With concerns over antibiotics in the food chain, global plastic crisis, and sugar tax, we’re aiming to make a splash and are ready to scale.”

The campaign is live for a further 20 days.
