One of Christo Wiese’s companies sold more than 3.8 million Shoprite shares for nearly R1 billion this week.
In a notice to shareholders on Friday afternoon, Shoprite said 3 831 164 ordinary shares had on Wednesday been sold by Titan Fincap Solutions, a subsidiary of Titan Premier Investments, at an average price of R245 per share.
This was higher than the R241.34 at which Shoprite’s share price closed on Tuesday and the total value of the transaction came to R938 635 180 before tax, Netwerk24 reported.
