Champagne Veteran Cyril Brun Moves To Italy’s Ferrari Trento

June 15, 2023

Veuve Clicquot and Charles Heidsieck veteran Cyril Brun is transitioning from Champagne into Italian sparkling wine, becoming chef de caves for luxury producer Ferrari Trento, which is part of the Taub Family Selections portfolio in the U.S. He succeeds enologist and technical director Ruben Larentis, who is retiring after 37 years with Ferrari Trento, based in Trentino in the foothills of the Italian Alps.

Brun spent 15 years with Veuve Clicquot before becoming chef de caves at Charles Heidsieck in 2015. “Attracting top talent and the sharing of knowledge are fundamental to the continued growth of Ferrari Trento,” company president and CEO Matteo Lunelli told SND. “We are confident that Cyril will create Trentodoc wines that are loyal to our history, while introducing a new perspective.” About 20,000 cases of Ferrari Trento wines were imported to the U.S. last year.—Daniel Marsteller
