WARREN — The Youngstown / Warren Regional Chamer will recognize six Mahoning Valley business leaders at its Salute to Business event Thursday at the Eastwood Event Center in Niles.
The recipients are:
• Business Professional of the Year — Chuck George, managing partner, Sapientia Ventures;
• Business Advocate of the Year — Anthony Trevena, executive director, Western Reserve Port Authority;
• Entrepreneurs of the Year — Evan Schumann and Marisa Sergi-Schumann, co-owners, L’uva Bella Winery;
• Small Business Professional of the Year — Keith Dunbar, president, Bral Corp.; and
• Salute To Labor Achievement Award — Marty Loney, business manager, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396.
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. It also will feature a keynote panel discussion with experts Lee Williams, chief program officer with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and Dr. Brian Corbin, executive vice president of Catholic Charities, regarding a repopulation effort in the Mahoning Valley.
In additon, special recognition will be given to Warren native John Zabrucky, a renowned prop designer, as well as founder of Modern Props Inc., who is donating about 500 props to the Trumbull County Historical Society to create a sci-fi museum in Warren.
Also at the event, Youngstown State University head football coach Doug Phillips will preview the upcoming season, and the Canfield Fair board will report on this year’s fair, which starts Wednesday.
