CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga—Cebu Pacific on Friday (April 21) revived its hub at the Clark International Airport (CRK) here, expecting an average of 10,000 seats monthly from flights to and from 15 domestic and international destinations.
Inaugural flights to and from Bacolod, Boracay, Davao and Bangkok resumed at the hub, which has operated in CRK for more than five years but scaled operations down during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 15 flights have multiple frequencies and the seats are 30 percent lower than pre-pandemic levels, according to Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer, during the relaunch in the new passenger terminal at CRK.
The flights from Clark also connect to Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Princesa, Hong Kong, General Santos, Singapore, Macau, Taipei, Incheon and Narita.
In a statement, Lao said it is stationing three more aircraft at the Clark hub.
“These are on top of the 10 new Airbus NEO aircraft that will be delivered in 2023 to expand the airline’s fleet,” he said.
“The launch of our Clark flights today is a fulfillment of Cebu Pacific’s mission to help make air travel more accessible and affordable for travelers in north and central Luzon. This expansion will give the traveling public more opportunities to explore the Philippines and the rest of the world,” Lao added.
The Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD), the consortium operating CRK, supported the restart of the hub, LIPAD president and CEO Noel Manankil said
Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chairman Delfin Lorenzana, BCDA president and CEO Aileen Zosa and Clark International Airport Corp. president Joshua Bingcang joined the launch.
Tourism Undersecretary Ferdinand Jumapao thanked Cebu Pacific, LIPAD and government agencies for “connecting” the islands of the country to local and foreign travelers.
