CBSE Class 12 Business Studies, Business Administration Exam Analysis: ‘Case study questions rated difficult’

CBSE Class 12 Business studies exam was conducted today. It is one of the most important paper for commerce stream students. On the basis of initial reaction of students, the exam was moderate but the case study questions were difficult to answer.

Central Board of Secondary Education , CBSE Class 12 Business Studies and Business Administration exam was conducted today, on March 25, 2023. The Intermediate exam was conducted in a single shift between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm. Initial reaction of students and the teachers analysis can be checked here. The exam was conducted for 80 marks and duration was 3 hours. The question paper has been attached below for reference.

Following the sample paper pattern, the question paper had 34 questions. Marks were indicated against each question. Answers to the questions with 3 marks had to be between 50 and 75 words. Answers to the questions carrying 4 marks had to be about 150 words. Answers to the questions carrying 6 marks had to be about 200 words.

Students who took the exam shared that they found case study questions a bit difficult. Ankita Gaur, a class 12 student from Kolkata shared that overall the difficulty level was moderate, the objective and subjective questions were easy. Shubham from a private school in Patna shared that he will secure good marks as there were no surprises and questions were from syllabus. However, the case study questions were time taking and more towards difficult side.

Sanjana Bhalla, PGT, MRG School shared that CBSE , Business studies paper for class XII , this year was a blend of competency based and cased based questions. There was a good amalgamation of HOTS and fre NCERT based questions as well. The paper overall was very balanced in terms of difficulty. Students also seemed happy as questions were in line with the sample paper provided. We can expect students to score well.

Ms.Priyanka Swami (PGT Commerce),KIIT World School, Gurugram shared that the paper was simple and well balanced. As per students the level of difficulty was moderate. The question paper was a balanced mix of knowledge, analysis and application based questions. Most of the students were able to complete the paper well in time and also could save some time for revision.

Yogesh Tripathi, PGT Acccountancy & Business Studies, Vidyagyan School Sitapur shared, “The Business Studies question paper was moderate on the difficulty level, with a few tricky questions that required careful consideration. Half of the questions were straightforward, while the other half were focused on case studies or real-world applications. Some of the application-based questions posed a challenge, but overall, the paper was less difficult than in previous years. As a result, students were able to complete the exam within the allotted time frame.”

She further added, “There were a good amalgamation of HOTS and NCERT based questions as well. The paper overall was very balanced in terms of difficulty. Students also seemed happy as questions were in line with the sample paper provided. We can expect students to score well.”There was no error found in the question paper. The paper consists questions ranging from easy to critical. Language was very easy and proper reading of the question will make it accessible for the students.”

Another teacher said that the Business paper is easy and all the 6 marks questions were direct. The paper was such that it was very easy for a child to score above 90%. Next exam is on March 27 for Urdu and other elective papers. Times Now wishes luck to candidates for upcoming examinations!
