The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Butte College is gearing up for National Small Business Week.

They’re hosting a series of classes for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. Classes range from starting a successful food truck business to how to go about creating a business health care plan.

SBDC will also be offering some classes free of charge next month to celebrate National Small Business Week which begins April 30. A one-day patents boot camp will be held on Wednesday, May 3, and a trademarks boot camp will be held Thursday, May 4.

Pre-registration is required.

SBDC also hosts one-on-one business advising in-person and online.

“The goal is to help those businesses start, develop, manage, grow and get access to capital,” said Sophie Konuwa, SBDC director. “Since we just came out of the pandemic, we’re trying to make sure the businesses get access to all the technical services that they need.”

Advising covers marketing, securing funding, starting a business from the ground up and management.
