The City of Pleasanton is relaunching its Pleasanton Business Venture Program where small businesses have the opportunity to receive access to a competitive grant of up to $10,000.
Funds are intended to provide working capital to support business growth and development.
Last year, the city awarded over eight business grants, up to $10,000 each, to small businesses here in Pleasanton. This program is a testament to the commitment of supporting local innovation and fostering economic growth.
The Pleasanton Business Venture Program is available for Pleasanton residents who own businesses or want to establish a new business within the City of Pleasanton. The project is for new or existing businesses. Businesses that generate new money into the local economy through the export of products or services outside of the City of Pleasanton will be given stronger consideration
“Being awarded this grant provided the ability to reduce financial constraints and continue my education, perfecting my craft of cosmetic tattooing,” said Ailaina Duran, owner of Beauty Ink by Ailaina and past recipient. “This has allowed me to focus on the things that truly matter most to me, such as enhancing the natural beauty of my clients and boosting their everyday confidence.”
Applicants who demonstrate a job creation element as part of their business plan will also be given stronger consideration. Prior activity – applicants can apply as many times as possible; however, they can only be funded once.
This program is funded by the American Rescue Plan and is intended to support existing businesses and business startups that are located within the City of Pleasanton. Additionally, this project will support economic development through job creation, business development, and sales tax stimulation.
“I started my business at 20 years old in December 2020 and I was awarded the grant in February 2022,” Duran said. “I’m very grateful, as this has been a huge part of my growth as a business owner as well as a respected member of our community. I’m eager to say I will now be in business for three years in December 2023.”
Applicants must complete an official Pleasanton Business Venture Grant Program Application and submit it directly to the program coordinator Janice Gonzalez at janice.gonzales@ emcstrategygroup. com.
The deadline for submissions is Dec. 8, so be sure to get your applications in soon.
