How wonderful to live in a community where businesses and other organizations shore up one another. Though it doesn’t always come in the form of the kind of surprise presented earlier this week, we take care of each other, here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
When Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company and the Spartan Foundation decided they wanted to support the Memorial Health Foundation, they injected a little fun by surprising Memorial Health System President and CEO Scott Cantley on Giving Tuesday.
“Today, (Tri-State President Jason Lewis) acknowledged the significance of our foundation’s special day as we strive for a $300,000 goal on Giving Tuesday,” Jarrett Stull, executive director of Memorial Health Foundation, said.
According to Stull, “To our surprise, Mr. Lewis not only visited but presented a generous check of $100,000 from Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company and the Spartan Foundation to support the development of our region’s first-ever Women and Children’s Hospital announced earlier this year.”
For the foundation, it is the largest single Giving Tuesday contribution ever received. And it happened because community partners saw a need, believed they could help and took action.
That is a credit not only to the strong relationships built among businesses and nonprofits in our community, but to the belief Tri-State and the Spartan Foundation had in the mission of the Memorial Health Foundation.
It is encouraging to see such an example of those who have the resources to help making sure they can use those resources to do the most good, right here at home.
