New hires
Tyler Walls recently joined Hills Bank as credit underwriting officer in the Hills office.
GreatAmerica Financial Services has announced the following new hires: Leighton Smith, chief strategy officer; Zac Chance, cash applications specialist; Evan Zalesky, portfolio manager; Reid Yaley, credit analyst; Carter Paulus. credit analyst; Lily Deutmeyer, account support adviser; Blake Young, software engineer-quality automation; Allison Leichtman, assistant controller; and Liv Richards, portfolio manager.
Promotions
RTX, the owner of Collins Aerospace, the largest employer in Cedar Rapids, has named Phil Jasper president of Raytheon, an RTX company. Jasper, a 31-year aerospace and defense veteran, succeeds Wesley D. Kremer, who is retiring. The company last week also announced the appointment of Troy Brunk as president of Collins Aerospace’s Mission Systems unit; Heather Robertson as chief operating officer for Collins Aerospace’s Mission Systems; and Nathan Boelkins as president of Collins Aerospace’s Avionics unit.
Hills Bank recently promoted Patty Hansche to vice president, treasury management, in the Coralville office.
At Cedar Ridge Distillery, Jamie Siefken will assume the role of president and general manager, and Murphy Quint will assume the master distiller role while continuing in his role as director of operations
Casino Queen Marquette has promoted Robin Corbeil to general manager, in charge of the riverboat casino’s day-to-day operations and team leadership.
Kyle Boardman was promoted to principal at Honkamp. A certified public accountant and financial planner, he has 11 years of experience in public accounting, all with Honkamp, and works in the company’s Hiawatha office.
Appointments
Daniel Goldstein, retired CEO of Folience Inc., an ESOP company and parent company of The Gazette, has been named an executive fellow at the Rutgers Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at the New Jersey university. He also has been selected as a fellow for Ownership at Work, a charitable think tank based in Yorkshire, England, that encourages shared ownership and participation at work.
Dr. Anthony J. Leo has been elected president of the Iowa Association of County Medical Examiners. Leo, a general surgeon in Oelwein, has served as Fayette County medical examiner since 2010. He previously served as the association’s vice president and became its president Jan. 1. for a two-year term.
Bob Brooks, Jim Carey, Pat Heiden, Christine Scheetz and Scott Maiers have joined TRAIL of Johnson County as members of the board of directors of the nonprofit that helps Johnson County residents age in place. Nancy Zear is a new member of TRAIL’s communications committee.

Wealth management: Cedar Rapids-based RBC Wealth Management has announced its Corridor Investment Group has been named to the Forbes best-in-state wealth management teams list for 2024. The rating, developed by Shook Research, is based on in-person, virtual and telephone due diligence meetings and an algorithm that includes best practices, client retention, industry experience, compliance, assets and revenue. Pete Alepra, who writes the monthly “Planning Points” column for The Gazette, leads the Corridor Investment Group.
Credit union: Newsweek has named Dupaco Community Credit Union a top regional credit union for 2024. Dupaco was one of three credit unions in Iowa given the publication’s five-star rating.

Business of the Week: Granny’s Iowa Market in Wright County was named “Small Business of the Week” by U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst last week. Dawn and Tim Hamilton opened the business in 2018 to provide fresh meat, cheese, baked goods and wines from Iowa, Wisconsin, and South Dakota in Clarion, a city of 3,000 in north-central Iowa. Tim Hamilton also served in the Iowa National Guard. Ernst, the ranking member of the Senate’s Small Business Committee, will be recognizing a small business in all 99 Iowa counties.
