FARGO — Build-A-Bear Workshop is now open at the West Acres Shopping Center, 3902 13th Ave. S., Fargo.
The make-your-own stuffed toy retailer is located in a concourse shop in the common (main entrance) area on the north side of the mall, just in front of Little Green Apple Hallmark.
Build-A-Bear offers guests the opportunity to make their own stuffed animals by stuffing, dressing, accessorizing and naming their teddy bears or other stuffed animals.
lululemon to expand at West Acres
lululemon has temporarily moved to a new location in the West Acres Shopping Center as its store undergoes a remodel and expansion.
Earlier this month the lifestyle clothing and athletic gear store moved to a temporary location next to Buffalo Court on the west side of the mall.
The city of Fargo issued lululemon a building permit Aug. 8 for $1 million to for work to “include, but not limited to, demolition of interior partitions, storefront in its entirety and demising walls. Installation of new interior partitions, storefront finishes, fixtures, ceiling and lighting.”
The new store will be double the size of their current space once work is complete, according to a post on the West Acres Facebook page.
Sandy’s Donuts and The Greenhouse to host coat drive

are partnering to host a coat drive to benefit
, a local nonprofit that assists homeless public school students.
New or gently-used coats can be dropped off during regular business hours from Sept. 11 – 25 at the following Sandy’s Donuts locations: 300 Broadway and 4215 45th St. S. in Fargo and 301 Main Ave. in West Fargo.
“We are proud to partner with The Greenhouse in this endeavor,” said Jeff Ostlund, CEO and Chief Donut Officer of Sandy’s Donuts, in a statement. “It’s heartening to witness the collective efforts of our businesses and community members coming together to create a warmer and more inclusive environment for these students.”
ND SCORE to host workshop for nonprofits
North Dakota SCORE will host “Building Stronger Nonprofits: North Dakota SCORE’s Workshop on Organizational Management” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The free workshop will be hosted in Fargo, Grand Forks, Bismarck and Minot, North Dakota, and Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, as well as online.
Topics will include leadership/strategic planning, board of directors management, ChatGPT – artificial intelligence applications for nonprofits, social entrepreneurship, cybersecurity and funding/grant writing.
Featured speakers will be:
- Denny Elbert – Retired dean of the University of North Dakota’s School of Business and Public Administration
- Cindy Miles – CEO of the Kansas Nonprofit Chamber
- Ryan Berg – SCORE mentor and lead solution specialist with Sales Force
- Bree Langemo – Director of Concordia College Center for Entrepreneurship
- Rick Johnston – SCORE mentor and founder of Information Management Systems
- Della Kapocius – Retired UND grant writer
