(ANSA) – ROME, OCT 27 – Consumer and business confidence both
continued their downwards trend in October, with the latter
falling to the lowest level since April 2021, ISTAT said on
Friday.
The consumer confidence index fell sharply from 105.4 to 101.6
and the IESI composite index of business confidence dropped from
104.9 to 103.9, the national statistics agency said.
The drop in the business index “extends to all sectors except
construction”, ISTAT continued.
“The consumer confidence index declined for the fourth
consecutive month, reaching the lowest value since January
2023,” it added. (ANSA).
