Bunker One has recently added the “MT NORE” to its fleet, marking the fourth bunker tanker in its lineup. The MT NORE is the company’s first methanol-ready tanker and has been leased for a long-term charter.

As of May 2023, MT NORE has obtained all the necessary permits and certifications for bunkering operations in these areas.
Bunker One emphasizes that the presence of this vessel will significantly facilitate the green transition in the strait between Denmark and Sweden. By offering essential infrastructure for last-mile delivery of alternative fuels to ships, the company aims to support the shift towards more sustainable practices.
The availability of methanol as a fuel option on bunkering ships plays a pivotal role in persuading logistics companies that are currently evaluating their alternatives. This factor contributes to their decision-making process regarding the adoption of alternative fuels.
Peter Zachariassen, CEO of Bunker One, highlights their focus on Gothenburg, Skaw, and the wider Scandinavian region due to the substantial vessel traffic passing through these areas.
