British Pension Funds Ready to Sell Billions of Pounds of Private Assets

British pension funds, which sold so many bonds two years ago the Bank of England was forced to intervene, are gearing up to flood the market with billions of pounds of private assets.

The funds will offload as much as £200 billion ($255 billion) of their holdings including in private equity, credit and infrastructure over the next few years instead of the decades previously expected, according to lawyers, consultants and other market participants interviewed by Bloomberg News.
