A DANGER tourist captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan had previously boasted of doing business deals with the militants.
Miles Routledge, one of three Brits being held by the group’s secret police, joked about “networking with the Talibros” as he posed for a picture with a group of fighters earlier this year.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman yesterday confirmed the government is negotiating for his release along with charity medic Kevin Cornwell and a Brit hotel manager.
It is believed YouTuber Miles, who had to be airlifted out of the country by Brit forces after the fall of Kabul in 2021, was detained after a business deal went wrong.
Two years ago he was criticised for his Afghan holiday after googling “the most dangerous cities to visit”.
Miles, 23, of Birmingham, made his boasts on business networking site LinkedIn. He has also been pictured posing with guns, main image and below, on his trips.

A source said: “Miles is a daredevil and has clearly tried getting friendly with Taliban fighters personally and professionally. Many back home would call it sheer recklessness and it has backfired on him.”
Married dad Kevin, 53, of Middlesbrough, was detained in a hotel raid in January by intelligence officers accusing him of possessing an illegal gun.
The hotel’s Brit manager, who has not been named, was also held. Two of the men have been able to make unscripted two-minute phone call to their families.
Scott Richards of crisis support group Presidium Network, said: “This is a landmark move for any negotiation with the Taliban because we haven’t seen this privilege before.
“The men are being treated fairly. It was clearly an important and emotional call. The details are private but we understand a great relief to the families.
“The relief Kevin’s family expressed after hearing his voice for the first time in three months, not knowing if he was well, brought a sense of peace and gave them hope that this situation will be resolved soon.”
Asked yesterday if it was irresponsible to go to Afghanistan under the Taliban regime, Ms Braverman told Sky News show Sophy Ridge on Sunday: “Anyone travelling to dangerous parts of the world should take the utmost caution.
“The government is in negotiations and working hard to ensure people’s safety is upheld.”
