A Bristol hospital treating people with serious mental health conditions has received £7.85m in funding.

York-based construction contractor, Urban Group secured the funding for the 18-month project, which started work last month.

Urban said it would deliver improvements to four buildings on the hospital’s site. These include reconfiguration of the space, as well as as the installation of new bedrooms, wards, a kitchen and multi-purpose rooms for meetings, consulting and supervision, as well as a therapy suite, workshops and a de-escalation centre.

The Bristol Hospital treats people experiencing serious mental health conditions. Working on behalf of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, the project forms part of the Healthier Together bid to NHS England for the consolidation of inpatient services.
