GlamoRose Cakes was founded in 2011 and has been based at its High Street address in Old Town for more than a decade.

Offering a wide choice of unique cakes and cupcakes, the shop has become a hotspot for people to get locally-made sweet treats.

The owner, Jessie Yeoell, made the choice to invest in a bright pink van back in January to take her creations around the town and has been overwhelmed with the reaction so far.

“I always wanted to have a van but the timing never came up for me to do it but now I have got it I can see the difference” she said.

“It is incredible, business has been tripled and the van has really helped with that, I am just so grateful for everything.”

The 34-year-old also ensures that her business helps local charities with each order sold, aiming to make a difference to the community.

“We know other businesses that do events so we visit different locations like schools, offices and hospitals,” said Jessie.

“Each time we make a sale, we make a donation to charitable causes so I can feel happy knowing that the whole business is doing good in all ways.”

Jessie decided to go bold on the colour of the scheme opting for a bright pink design which has helped captured the attention of customers.

“My husband said if you paint your van pink no one will come to it and I said that makes me want to paint it bright pink even more,” she said.

“Now he says I’m right and that it looks fantastic. When you’re driving down the motorway all the little kids wave out the window which is so cute.”

Jessie’s passion for cakes remains just as strong as day one in the business.

“I kind of fell into it as I was just baking from home and I just kept getting busier and busier and didn’t know what to do,” she said.

“I never planned in my career to make cakes all day but now I do it, I know it’s what I was always meant to do and I absolutely love doing it.

“I even love actually making them. Taking all the butter, sugar and flour, and turning in into this incredible thing that was just ingredients minutes before.”
