Fantastic Things, known for its emporium stores in Christchurch and Bournemouth, is one of 100 firms chosen by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign.
Founded in 2021, the Fantastic Things brand supports local artisans and traders by giving them the opportunity to showcase and sell their work in a high street setting.
The SmallBiz100 line-up showcases some the most inspiring independent businesses from across the nation.
Fantastic Things director Mark Battistini said: “We are delighted to be selected as one of the top 100 small businesses in the UK and look forward to being part of the campaign and raising the profile of our and other small businesses in the UK.”
Small Business Saturday returns on December 2 and Fantastic Things will be profiled by the campaign on September 12.
The recognition comes soon after Fantastic Things welcomed shoppers through the doors of its new store in The Arcade off Old Christchurch Road on August 1.
At the time, Mr Battistini said: “A little independent shop on a high street will find it very difficult to get customers in. But for us in Christchurch we have between one to two thousand people through the doors every day – Christmas time it can go up to 3,000.”
Mr Battistini also said he wants to open further stores in places including Poole, Ringwood and Southampton.
Small Business Saturday is a non-commercial campaign which celebrates business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’.
“It’s fantastic to celebrate Fantastic Things Emporium as part of this year’s campaign,” said Michelle Ovens, Small Business Saturday UK director.
“The impressive small businesses featured in this year’s SmallBiz100 sum up the phenomenal contribution that small firms make to our economy and local communities.”
The campaign was originally founded by American Express in the US in 2010.
Last year, the campaign trended at number one in the UK on social media platform X (formally Twitter) and more than 90 per cent of local councils also supported the campaign.
