KUANTAN, April 9 — Various measures are being implemented under the Bitara Madani Initiative programme to provide more comfort to the public, such as by reducing congestion at hospitals and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and overhauling dilapidated schools nationwide, said Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

The Chief Secretary to the Government said that such efforts, managed by the Special Task Force on Agency Reform (STAR), were geared towards speedy and low-cost implementation with a high impact.

“In this regard, the development of work process and revision of regulations is done by STAR joint coordinator the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) itself.

“It is crucial to see improvements to speed up, simplify and optimise available resources in the implementation of an initiative,” he said when opening the Pahang-level MyMudah 2023 conference here today.

Also present were Pahang State Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak, MPC director-general Datuk Abdul Latif Abu Seman, and Pahang Development director Datuk Zulkifli Yaacob.

Mohd Zuki, who heads STAR, said in the state context, the MyMudah initiative was introduced to provide for ease of doing business to give the state government an advantage in attracting more investors.

“By facilitating business transactions, local economic growth can be increased and more job opportunities created.

“Initiatives like this can be a catalyst for economic development and the well-being of the people at the state level,” he said.

Mohd Zuki also congratulated the Pahang government for establishing the first MyMudah Unit in the East Coast region and implementing MyMudah projects like the F8 initiative to improve the Kuantan Municipal Council’s construction procedures and resolve issues on temporary housing of foreign workers involving the Cameron Highlands District Council. — Bernama
