CommSec’s Craig James says the United States markets were down “a smidgen” overnight, leading to a flat start for the market.

“We do have the Federal Reserve meeting this week announcing that decision … certainly a bit of nervousness there,” Mr James told Sky News Australia.

“Apple will be announcing their profit results later in the week as well – so a bit of caution by US investors.”
