BIMP-EAGA Business Council Malaysia (Sabah) appoints dozen advisors

Kota Kinabalu: The BIMP-EAGA Business Council Malaysia (Sabah) or BEBC Sabah has approved 12 people as its key panel advisors.
They are:

  1. Wong Thart Sin – Ministry of Transport and Trade Facilitation
  2. Prof Dr Wilson Yong – Ministry of Maritime Academy, Port and Shipping Operation
  3. Datuk Ir Peter Lajumin – Ministry of Power and Energy (Generation, Transmission and Energy Security)
  4. Assoc Prof Ts Dr Rayner Alfred – Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and Industrial 5.0
  5. Assoc Prof Dr Geoffrey Tanakinjal – Ministry of Marketing, Socio Economic, Career and Innovation Development
  6.  Assoc Prof Dr Bonaventure Boniface Hunggim – Ministry of Agriculture-Farming Business and Other Commodity Trade
  7.  Dr Chin Pei Yee @ Christie – Ministry of Stakeholder Networking and Community Engagement
  8.  Dr Rafiq Bobby Idris – Ministry of Blue Economy and Economic-based Food Security
  9. Assoc Prof Dr Ching Fui Fui @ Faihana Ching Abdullah – Ministry of Aquaculture and Food Farming related Project Development
  10. Puan Sri Diana Diego Datuk Yusof Hamdain – Ministry of Tourism, Awareness – Education and Cultural Development
  11.  Dr Raymond Alfred – Ministry of Environment, Sustainability, Security and Certification.
  12.  Dr Loriot Kenson – Ministry of Health, Welfare and Community Empowerment.

“This appointment is made and endorsed by Special Envoy BIMP-EAGA Sabah, to ensure that BEBC Malaysia (Sabah) is sending clear signal and message to all business sectors including all stakeholders, that we are serious in delivering and sharing the responsibility to achieve BEV 2025 Vision and Agenda Including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” Raymond said in his official FB account.
“The new Chairman of BEBC Malaysia (Sabah), it is time to review solutions and discuss how to scale up innovative approaches promoted by the business council to further support to the Government of Sabah, related to strategic initiatives and programme in making the BIMP EAGA, an effective mechanism programme to deliver significant impacts through our trade, tourism, business, research-based initiatives and security recommended mechanism in a sustainable manner, without leaving no one behind,” he said.
The BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BEBC) represents the private sector in BIMP-EAGA.
The council enjoys a “fifth country” status at Senior Officials Meetings, with its Chairman having the same rank as other senior officials during policy discussions.
