Big White has won some prestigious plaudits after being voted the best Canadian resort for snowboarding by readers of a major American newspaper.

USA Today’s panel of experts praised Biggie’s “breathtaking runs, gorgeous views, and brilliant terrain” in its assessment of the resort.

It came second in North America in the newspaper’s Readers’ Choice 2023: Best Place for Snowboarding vote.

Big White said it is “thrilled” to receive “another exciting accolade.”

“This achievement is not just about our resort, it’s a testament to the breathtaking experiences our mountains offer,” the ski hill explained.

Michael J. Ballingall, senior vice president at Big White, said the happy result follows hot on the heels of some less positive news – that the resort will no longer be opening on Thursday due to a lack of snow.

“I look forward to sharing some good news with you after the next storm,” he said.

“In the meantime pray for snow.”

The full results of the vote will not be published by USA Today until Dec. 1
