BCD Travel has achieved a platinum rating for its sustainability efforts for the fourth year running.

The travel management company has achieved the grading from EcoVadis, which assesses more than 100,000 companies annually on their environmental commitments, labour standards and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Only one per cent of those assessed achieve platinum status.

As part of the assessment, the TMC has been rated as ‘Advanced’ in EcoVadis’ Carbon Action Module, a carbon management solution that works to drive decarbonisation across the supply chain, according to the companies.

“Sustainability is a journey that we’ve been on for many years, and we’re eager for others to join,” said Olivia Ruggles-Brise, BCD’s vice president of sustainability.

“It requires a collective effort across the entire industry. Our clients, partners and people are constantly driving each other to push for better when building a sustainable future for business travel. Our focus is on taking action that prioritises positive impact – and we invite all our stakeholders to help us with this objective,” she added.

The TMC’s 2024 sustainability priorities include the implementation of a new supplier due diligence process, setting targets for Scope 3 emissions and further investment in the development of sustainability-focused products and services.
