Baker McKenzie acted as Swedish legal advisor to Norwegian Oda in connection with the merger with Swedish Mathem. The two companies together form a new Nordic market leader in e-commerce of groceries with home delivery, with a total turnover of over SEK 5 billion.

Mathem and Oda have in parallel been pioneers in their respective markets for e-commerce of groceries with home delivery, Mathem in Sweden since 2006 and Oda in Norway since 2013. In the new company structure, Mathem will be a Swedish country organization within the Oda Group in the same way as Oda Norway. Oda and Mathem already have joint owners in Kinnevik and Verdane. In addition to these, the merger is also supported by the two companies’ boards and other owners, Axfood and Summa Equity, who also remain as shareholders.

Baker McKenzies acted as Swedish legal advisor with a core team consisting of John Gustafson, Isabel Starkebo, Adrian Sundberg, Linnea Back, Margarita Kozlov, Katja Persson and Carl Bohman.
