UK Commercial Group pledges to continue to deliver decontamination and infection control services for the businesses it supports across the country, after being recognised for its efforts in the prestigious England’s Business Awards.
Initially UK Commercial Group won Best Newcastle Business’ at the English Business Awards, after being nominated by customers.
The regional win meant it moved to the national awards where it went on to scoop the major prize.
The competition is not just voted for by a judging panel, but by customers and the public. There was a voting stage, a secret shopping stage and finally, several surprise visits.
UK Commercial Group, with its head office based in the Team Valley, Gateshead, worked throughout the Covid pandemic providing vital cleaning services for the healthcare sector.
The national facilities management company provided PPE survival packages and created decontamination teams to combat Covid-19 in care homes and donated free hand gel to NHS staff.
Among the numerous reasons the UK Commercial Group was recognised were:
- Offering support to the care industry throughout the lockdowns;
- Being involved in setting up Nightingale hospitals throughout the UK;
- Delivering training to cleaning companies on Covid-19 decontamination.
Although fears of the pandemic have subsequently abated, the team at UK Commercial Group see a continued threat of diseases on the most vulnerable and the need to provide extensive cleaning services to prevent further dangers.
The UK Commercial Group works with clients within the hotel and healthcare sectors, restaurant groups and numerous care groups across the country.
Tony Earnshaw, Managing Director, UK Commercial Group Ltd says, “We currently provide services across the UK but the North East gave us that first opportunity to establish ourselves as a leading commercial cleaning and facilities management company.
“The Covid pandemic accelerated the need for companies to invest in commercial cleaning services and we worked closely with them providing guidance, support, and materials.
