Avalanche in Tahoe-Area Ski Resort Leaves One Dead 

An avalanche at a famous ski resort near Lake Tahoe left one person dead and another hurt, the local sheriff’s office said.

The Placer County sheriff’s office spokesman said the search operation at Palisades Tahoe had concluded. No other missing people have been reported.
