Australian boxer Harry Garside has been arrested by NSW Police over allegations of domestic violence.

A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed to AAP on Tuesday that Garside had been taken to Mascot Police Station and was “assisting police with inquiries”.

The news was first reported by The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday afternoon.

Garside was returning home from South Africa where he had been taking part in Channel 10 reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’.

He was accompanied by father Shaun on the flight to Sydney and met by police at Sydney International Airport before being taken in for questioning over an alleged incident in March involving a 32-year-old woman.

Garside had on Monday evening shared a photo of himself and his father in business class on a Qantas flight on Instagram along with a message for his followers.

“Had to upgrade my best mate to business with me,” he wrote.

“His first time flying business. Money comes and goes, memories with loved ones last forever (black heart emoji). What an experience it has been. Something I will truly never forget, friendships that will last a lifetime. Massive thank you to everyone who supported me, can’t believe I made it that far into the show. Can’t wait to touch down in the best country on earth again. Bring on the journey to Paris 2024.”
