Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis defended her decision to hire Nathan Wade as a special prosecutor, saying in a speech Sunday morning that the lead lawyer in her office’s racketeering case against former President Donald Trump and others is well qualified to serve in the role.
One of the defendants in the case alleged in a court filing last week that Wade and Willis had been in a continuing romantic relationship since before Willis hired Wade, and that both had benefited financially from the arrangement. The filing also alleged that Wade didn’t have the proper experience for the job.
