Aneela Ali, executive director of finance and corporate services, received the accolade in the Business Professional of the Year category at the prestigious awards ceremony earlier this month.
The event brought together the best and brightest British Asian professionals from various industries to celebrate their accomplishments, and was attended by prominent leaders, influencers and businesspeople.
Aneela said: “Just being nominated in such a competitive category and being recognised as highly commended is a monumental achievement for me.
“A huge well done to all the winners and to everyone that was nominated. I firmly believe that everyone who was part of this incredible event is a winner in their own right. The opportunity to be surrounded by such talented and accomplished individuals was truly inspiring.
“The awards shine a lot on the amazing work being achieved within our community and the incredible heights we can reach when we support and uplift one another.”
On her role at the Chamber, Aneela said: “I’m very passionate about the region and our people, and will continue to work with our members to support their growth and prosperity, with the Chamber as an influential force for good.
“The Chamber team will continue to ensure we play our part in creating a stronger, fairer North East.”
Award categories include Tech Professional of the Year, CEO of the Year, Architect of the Year, Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur of the Year, Female Solicitor of the Year and Accounting Firm of the Year.
