A student-led startup has received seed funding, according to a statement made on Saturday by IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

The Pallavi Model School students N.Manasa Reddy and Nafeesa Anjum received seed money for their startup, Digi Gyan. The Minister’s official handle tweeted, “Digi Gnan is a platform for female students in Tier 2/3 towns&villages to digitally enable knowledge sharing.”

On WE-Hub’s fifth anniversary, Mr. Rama Rao promised to fund the startup. “After the girls’ compelling presentation of Digi Gnan, KTR questioned the women regarding financial viability, a road map, and ROI. The handle tweeted, “He then gave a seed capital of 8 Lakh rupees.

The ‘Digi Gnan’ idea stemmed from the problem statement the children identified during their Girls in STE(A)M and Earlypreneurship programs by @WEHubHyderabad which focuses on enabling more young girls to take their innovative ideas in to viable entrepreneurial startup ventures.
